During this program, you'll learn basic self-defense techniques and strategies that can be used in a variety of situations. Some of the specific topics and lessons covered in the program include:

  • Recognizing and avoiding potential dangers: You'll learn how to identify potential threats and take steps to avoid them. This includes strategies for spotting warning signs of aggression or violence, and for creating a safe and secure environment for yourself and your patients.

As part of this mission, we offer an Advanced Self-Defense for Healthcare Workers training program to help healthcare professionals like you stay safe and in control in high-stress or dangerous situations.

This program is designed to build on the skills and techniques taught in our Basic Self-Defense for Healthcare Workers program, and focuses on more advanced techniques and strategies for defending oneself in high-stress or dangerous situations. Some of the specific topics and lessons covered in the program include:

  • Using improvised weapons: You'll learn how to use everyday objects as improvised weapons to defend yourself in a pinch. This includes strategies for identifying potential weapons, and for using them effectively to disable an attacker.

  • Defending against multiple attackers: You'll learn how to defend yourself against multiple attackers, including strategies for positioning yourself to maximize your defenses and for using counterattacks to neutralize threats.

  • Escaping from restraints or other restraints: You'll learn how to escape from restraints or other restraints if you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to use your hands or arms to defend yourself. This includes techniques for freeing yourself from ropes, cords, or other restraints, and for escaping from holds or grabs

This program is designed to help you recognize warning signs of a crisis, create a safe space or shelter in place, and evacuate or escape safely if necessary. Some of the specific topics and lessons covered in the program include:

  • Recognizing warning signs of a crisis: You'll learn how to identify the early warning signs of a crisis, and how to take steps to protect yourself and your patients. This includes strategies for staying aware of your surroundings, and for recognizing potential threats or dangers.

  • Creating a safe space or shelter in place: You'll learn how to create a safe space or shelter in place if you are unable to evacuate a building or area. This includes strategies for barricading doors and windows, and for providing basic first aid and other emergency care to injured individuals.

  • Evacuating or escaping safely: You'll learn how to evacuate or escape safely in the event of a crisis. This includes strategies for following established evacuation procedures, and for using emergency exits and other escape routes effectively.
